GoTwende Raises $15M Series A to Expand Across Africa
African travel tech startup announces major funding round led by leading venture capital firms to accelerate growth across 30+ countries.
WINDHOEK, Namibia — GoTwende, the leading African travel experience platform, today announced the successful completion of a $15 million Series A funding round. The investment was led by Horizons Ventures with participation from Founders Fund Africa, Endeavor Catalyst, and several strategic angel investors.
The funding will be used to expand GoTwende's presence across 30+ African countries, enhance the technology platform, and grow the team from 150 to over 300 employees by the end of 2026.

Since its founding in 2020, GoTwende has facilitated over 500,000 travel bookings across 20 African countries, partnering with more than 2,500 local tour operators and experience providers. The platform offers everything from wildlife safaris to cultural immersions, adventure sports to wellness retreats.
The Series A funding comes at a pivotal time for African tourism, which is experiencing unprecedented growth. According to the African Development Bank, tourism contributes approximately $194 billion to Africa's GDP annually, with significant potential for expansion.
